The CLS Educate Review of Adverse Incidents Masterclass Programme has been adapted specifically for professionals and managers working across Learning Disability, Mental Health and Community Services.

We recognise that one size does not fit all. Incident review in these settings can involve different service environments, models of care, communication needs, multidisciplinary teams and relationships with service users and families. The programme therefore retains the core principles of robust incident review while ensuring the content, examples and practical exercises reflect the realities of these services.

The training is underpinned by a structured and systematic approach to incident review, supporting participants to identify key causes and contributory factors, develop meaningful recommendations and reduce the risk of future recurrence. Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring that the perspective of the service user, patient and their family or carers is appropriately considered throughout the review process.

The Masterclass provides participants with the concepts, tools and techniques required to undertake a robust and proportionate incident review and to develop, prioritise and quality assure recommended actions aimed at improving the quality and safety of care and support.

The modular approach allows the programme to be tailored to the specific needs of each organisation, with scenarios, case studies and facilitated exercises adapted to reflect Learning Disability, Mental Health and Community service settings.
